Hi, thanks for posting here. I am actually a school nurse myself at an international school here (Kuwait English School) in the Prep Department. I get KD350 at the moment, the management said I'll get KD400 this month (fingers crossed!) I don't have free accommodation but it's okay because my husband pays for our apartment. I don't wear (or refused to wear a uniform!) and I don't have an annual ticket because I'm hired locally. I have 30% discount for my son's school fees though.
KD200 is I think a bit low but then again you have free accommodation (don't know what's it's like). Is an annual ticket included in your contract? I think it should be.
About the yearly increment, it could be possible but I get a bit skeptical when they give promises here (you ask all expats here and they'll tell you the same thing).
The nice thing about working as a school nurse is you don't have night shifts. I'm handling about 400 children ages 3-5 mostly small cuts and bruises. Then you have the school holidays. Eid Holiday, winter holiday, spring holiday and 2 mos summer holiday.
I don't think you'll be allowed to get a part time job but some people still do it.
Hope this will help you weigh the pros and cons.

just call me jhing, i'm been working in an educational company for the last 2 years and mdyo my idea din ako when it comes sa slary scheme and increment na sinasabi. let me share with you my idea. usually, ung sahud ng isang school nurse is depende sa qualification & nationality. depende din sa kung gaano kalaki o ka standard ung school. like our school, we have international & bilingual school, so ung shud ng mga school nurses namin eh pumapalo sa 500kd & up. free accom, trans. allow, yearly airfare, medical, etc. if am not mistaken kc, ung employer mo which is english playgroup salmiya, is not that ganun kalaking company. kya cguro gnun lang ung offer nlang salary sau. when it comes nman sa increment, according sa kuwaiti labor law, yearly tlaga na merong increment but depende sa employer if how much and if meron nga talaga. if ever na meron man, depende din un sa performance mo. when it comes nman sa partime job, depende din kung anong klaseng partime job.but remember, partime job in kuwait is illegal. u just need to take care na kung skali mang my partime job ka eh di ka mahuli ng pulis or else kulong ang aabutin mo. me nman, for the past 2 years of my stay here, nkailang partime job na rin ako. kaso lng in my case, pinapaalam ko sa company mandoub nmin pra just incase na magka problema me na halimbawang mahuli ng pulis eh they knows how to save me. kumbaga, aware cla na my partime nga ako. kpag gnun kc ang situation, na alam ng company mandoub mo wla kang ikakatakot. when it comes nman sa transfer of employer, na halimbawang gusto mong maghanap ng ibang employer in the future after your contract, depende prin sa employer mo. there are somes kc na clever din, na pauuwiin ka sa pinas kung ayaw mo ng mag renew ng contract. about naman sa plano mong mag cross country sa canada, gudluck nlng sa iyo. ako, gnun din plan ko pro till now and2 prin sa kuwait. d kc gnun kadali, katulad ng inaakala natin. mhba at mhirap n proseso. we need more years of experience, tsaka dpende nrin kung wat magiging work ntin dun. we need also to compare the situation, financially. d2 kc sa kuwait, wlang tax.

Sa ibang English school po magkanu po ba ang salary ng School Nurse and wahta are the requirements? 2years kasi contract ko plan ko tapusin and then lipat sa Canada pero kung walang magiging job offer sa akin lipat na lang ako ng ibang school sa Kuwait if di magtaas ng salary samin.
