Re:Visit Visa - 2007/05/16 07:31
Hi Mac,

As far as I know, if you're on a tourist visa, you don't need to go to the POEA because they only process working visas.

If you go to Kuwait Embassy in Manila, they will probably just ask for your tourist visa and your plane ticket. As I've mentioned before, check with them.

When you're at the NAIA, the Immigration will probably ask you some questions like, what you're going to do here in Kuwait, how long you're going to stay etc. I would suggest that you do not tell them that you're coming to work because they will see you're on a tourist visa and they might not let you through.

And most likely, they will also ask for a translation of your visa. For that, you have to go to the Office of Muslim Affairs in Quezon City (OMA).

Hope everything goes fine. God bless.

Hello Ivy,

Thanks again for the reply, I have read the Useful information in this site and im very happy and thankful that it helps a lot.

Regarding with my visa, even me im shock that after i translated it to english it was only a tourist visa, Alwatan TV will apply for me a residence visa when i get there in kuwait, i think after my probi period, Like all companies in singapore and dubai do, my brother is in dubai right now and he said before, at first he was a tourist visa when he was hired by a certain company and then the company applied him a working visa after his probationary period ends, he's in dubai now for 2 years. I tried emailing him and no reply yet i think he is busy so i decided to post in this forum for help.

The contract was sent to me through email and then i printed it out and signed it then i scanned it and send to them again.

I have already the ticket and my flight is on May 25th. I just hope that i will not be barred in the airport or that the embassy of kuwait will allow me to fly to kuwait. Kasi im in tourist visa and im going there for work - parang questionable. and I don't wanna miss this opportunity kasi malaki ang sahod na ibibgay nila! That's why im asking before if dadaan pa ako ng POEA.

any ideas will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Hi Mac,

This is the first time I heard about contract being signed trough email. How did they hire you?

You're probably going to be okay when you get here. It's just that it doesn't sound very secure - job wise. It sounds strange to me cause you're on a tourist visa and you have a work contract, quite confusing.

I know you don't want to lose this opportunity of being able to work abroad but if you decide to come anyway I think you should be prepared for whatever that might happen. You could still have the job but you cannot be sure it's going to be a long term one or have a job at all.

Anyway, it's all up to you. If you're going to have some problems when you get here, you can ask for help or advice from the Philippine Embassy here in Kuwait.

This website has a whole section on the Philippine Embassy and a link to their website, you can browse and get the phone numbers and other important information. You might also want to browse on the useful information on things you should know before working overseas etc. They say, "Forewarned is forearmed!"

Take care and God bless.

Hi Ivy,

thanks for your reply. I have already signed a contract in alwatan tv through email, they said that they will apply me a working visa when i get there, cause it's not easy to get a working visa, so they just gave a tourist visa for the meantime. All the plane ticket and hotel accomodation are sponsored by the company. I am from cebu and by may 16 i will be there in manila. I don't know what to do with my visa.

Hi Mac,

I think you should ask or call POEA, just to be on the safe side.

If you have a tourist visa, that means you can only stay in Kuwait for a month and you can renew the visa twice so that's three 3 months all in all. After that you have to leave the country or make an exit to Bahrain for a day as what most people do here and then come back to Kuwait providing you have a new visa whether working visa (preferable) or another tourist visa.

Did the company hire you or a friend sponsored you on a tourist visa?

If you have a job offer from Dar Al Watan you're supposed to have a working visa.

If you're coming on a tourist visa, you don't need a medical exam in Manila. I'm not sure what you need to take to Kuwait Embassy, probably your visa and your plane ticket. Find out and call them to save you time and energy.

Kuwait Embassy number in Manila: 02-532-9318.

Good luck.

Visit Visa - 2007/05/13 06:19
Hello All,

I have a job offer in Dar Al Watan, I think in Al watan TV they will be assigning me in IT Dept (I think). I have already the Visa but when i translated it to English it says Tourist/Visit visa, should i be going to the POEA? All I know is I will be going to the Embassy of kuwait in manila and let the visa and the passport be stamped and after that ready for departure. Do I have to undergo a medical checkup here? and What are the requirements for tourist visa to be stamp by the embassy of kuwait. I am the only one processing because i am a direct hire.

Please help..
