thanks for sharing your experiences. How scary naman yong experience mo - don't wanna be on that situation, pero maraming maraming salamat, at least I know how it works there in NAIA's immigration. It is kinda scary kasi eh when your in a situation like this. But you've given me a lesson today, I will do what you suggest.
God Bless you all including the immigration officers!

hi mac!
your situation reminds me of my experience last year. i came here on a visit visa as well, although nung una, relative ang nag-sponsor sa akin-as a tourist. luckily, i was able to find a job here quickly. the problem is, my employer was not able to transfer my visa immediately. so i was on tourist visa for like 4 months(laging extended). finally, my employer was able to get me a visa, not a work visa, but a tourist visa. some call it commercial tourist visa or a business visa(which i think is what you have). after so many months, early this year i finally get my work visa.
be ready for this: expect people at immigration there(naia) to pressure you coz you are going on a visit visa. sasabihin sau, daan ka muna sa POEA. they will try to delay you. bottomline is, naghihintay lang sila ng "processing fee" . what you do then is(this is what i did), try another line, i mean another immigration officer. if they ask you why you have a tourist visa and not a work visa, you can tell them you're only coming for a job interview or a business meeting. my employers even provided me an invitation letter to come to kuwait to present to immigration in case they required it. pag sinamang-palad at lahat ng immigration officer, di ka pinalusot, dont worry. your airline will assist you. take note: the airline will not issue you a ticket if they dont think your papers are sufficient. pag malapit na ang boarding time at wala ka pa sa eroplano, may mag-iikot na empleyado ng airline, hahanapin ka(tatawagin name mo), then they will take your docs, sila magpapa-tatak sa immigration, then sakay ka na ng plane. since sabi mo may ticket ka na, then you should not worry too much, except for those people at immigration.
i hope this will help you and lessen your apprehension on coming to work here. para naman di mo pagdaanan yung pinagdaanan ko first time i went here. good luck on your new job!

Hello Ivy,
Thanks for the Info and help regarding Visa and POEA and immigration. I really learned a lot from this site.
Yes I have already translated my visa here in CEBU, there is an OMA here in visayas region. The sad thing is that the translation has the sponsor's name and Address which is alwatan TV. I am thinking right now of what to tell in the immigration people. I have also emailed my employer regarding this one.
Well Anyway thanks a lot for helping me. I just hope and pray that all will be well.
More power to your site!!!
