Thanks for appreciating Ivy!

In photography it doesn't matter what your gear are. We have a saying in photography that "it's not the pana, it's the Indian". Ofcourse it is an advantage having the best gear in town. I am warning you now that photography is quite addictive (and extremely expensive) but fulfilling.

If you have the time, I can teach you some basics (the same goes for other guys out there).

The first step in understanding photography starts within yourself. Are you passionate enough to learn?

please keep on checking my flickr for updates:

if you do start a camera club, i would like to join. i did self-learn a bit before but dropped out soon enough. plus, i have yet to start buying serious equipment.

best way to study is to practice, practice, practice.

Hi J3k2,

Checked your photos on flikr. Beautiful! You definitely have an eye for photography. Where did you learn to do that? I like the ones you took in Brazil and the portraits.

My camera is Canon PowerShot S21S. Does it make any difference if I'm using a digital camera? Or it all depends on how I take the photos?

I've had few attempts before, nothing spectacular but I think I am more inclined on doing candid, baby/newborn, glamour and nude/semi nude photography. But I like looking at landscape and travel photography. I even bought the book "One Planet"(Inspirational Travel Photography).

Would really love to learn more. Problem is, there's not enough time! How long does it take to learn the basics?

I ain't a pro but just a hobbyist. I have been doing photography for quite a long time now. I have few friends who are into photography as well. Maybe we can meet some other time.
