I was wondering, what were the employment agencies thinking??? They're mad. Glad it didn't happen.

I heard about this POEA order from a friend early this year. But I think the implementation was aborted by a TRO. They were saying this was a plot by the employment agency groups. How it will work beats the heck out of me. If they charge that much, no employer in his right mind would hire from the Philippines anymore. If implemented, the employment agencies would not be able to deploy any more OFWs, this could backfire on them if pushed through.

Just for additional info there is a new memo circular for ofws.... honest... nalulungkot ako sa mga kapwa nating OFWs na gustomakapagwork sa ibang bansa tapos lalabas ang ganitong law....
POEA Memorandum Circular No. 4 or the Guidelines on the Direct Hiring of Filipino Workers has drawn widespread flak from all sectors. The memorandum, issued on Dec. 18, 2007, makes no distinction between new and current overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). It states that foreign employers opting for direct hiring have to put up a repatriation bond of $5,000 and a performance bond equivalent to three months’ salary of the worker.
Example is KuwaitCo. gusto hire si Pedro with monthly salary of 1,000 USD. .. so si KuwaitCo. magbabayad ng 5K + 3K ==8K USD for the bonds... This will slim down chances para makapagtrrabaho ang ating kababayan. For suremas gugustuhin na lang ni KuwaitCo. na kumuha ng employee sa ibang bansa without undergoing any bonds. tsk tsk tsk......

Beware: Immigration policy regarding issuance of visit visas changes regularly (depending on the weather just being sarcastic and without notice.

Few of the major changes beginning early March:

1. From 3 months visit visa to 1 month (extendable by 10 days only).

2. Only immediate family can be sponsored (wife and children). Before, they are allowing parents, sister and distant relatives.

3. We are included in the list of countries with "upon entry visa" but now what? no idea.

I don't know what is wrong with these people. they are changing policies like they are changing clothes.

i haven't tried it yet but i know someone who have done it. You will act as a sponsors to your relative. (either you want them to go here as dependent or just a tourist visa). Go to your ministry district of immigration then fill-up a form for your relative requesting for visa. They would request copy of your salary certificate...attested copy of your relatives birth certificate by Q8 ministry of Foregin Affairs and Justice, your civil id/ passport etc....both original and copy of it. then they will assist you on this to fill in this form for certain fee. there is a visa regulation part in this site. you can check on it...
