P.S. Just to be on the safe side, before travelling it would still be better if you enquire at the
Embassy of the country you intend to go if you really need to get a visa or not.

Absolutely a must! My two colleagues had a short vacation in Dubai. Both of them are GCC residence. Only one guy was allowed to skip the process of acquiring a tourist visa while the other was required to have one. The only difference is, the guy who was allowed visa-free had an engineer category on his residency.

So beware! Rules and Policies in GCC are interpreted in many ways. It always depend on whom you're talking to

Hello everyone! I'm back and feeling refreshed but it's been frantic again (story of my life!) As I've said, I got through Oman Immigration easily. I didn't have to get an entry/tourist visa. My husband and I paid 6 Omani Riyals for both of us (baby is free) at the Immigration and that was it! No questions asked.

Before we left, I had to renew my residence visa here in Kuwait because it was going to expire in a month and they said it has to be at least 3 months before it will expire. I think they just want to be sure I am coming back to Kuwait! So that caused a little bit of delay.

Apparently, there is a new law in all the GCC countries, that if you have a residence visa anywhere in the Gulf countries whether it is an employment or a family visa, you can travel to Dubai, Bahrain, Oman and so on without getting an entry/tourist visa and that's exactly what happened when we went to Muscat. I hope they're not going to change this. It would save us from all the palaver of getting a visa especially if you're only going for a short holiday. It would really make Filipinos' lives so much easier!

P.S. Just to be on the safe side, before travelling it would still be better if you enquire at the Embassy of the country you intend to go if you really need to get a visa or not.

Hello everyone! Just to let you know we're here in Muscat. No dramas at the immigration and the place is soooo beautiful! I will tell more about it when we get back.

I've taken photos and I will upload it on flickr! I know I said I'll do it when I'm going to be close to being a pro but I just realized that I can't upload it on my friendster account because it will only accept 300kb photos or something like that! I will put the link of my flickr account when I finish uploading the photos and you can leave your comments....(please be nice).

Okidok, the camper's got to go!

Third World Country = discrimination galore

Ivy,

Good luck on your trip. It's time to practice shooting. The first lesson I will give you is mastering your camera. The best tool right now is the one that you are holding. Read the manual! know its weakness and exploit what it has to offer. Bring the manual if you have to.
