Thank you Ferdie. You'll really enjoy going to Muscat, so visit the place when you have a chance.

Ravings on Muscat - 2008/04/21 23:03
I felt so refreshed and so relaxed after coming back on a holiday from Muscat.

Muscat has a "sleepy town" feel to the place. No skyscrapers just rock mountains everywhere and wherever we went the streets are unbelievably clean, you can eat off the roads! Oh by the way, they also drive properly!

While driving around, I've noticed that most of the houses and buildings are painted white and they all look like newly painted. You can hardly see tatty buildings or houses.

They also have beautiful gardens on the road pavements. I like their lampost too! I love the forts and the watchtowers on the mountains. Some of the sceneries are really specatcular. It LITERALLY took my breath away! My husband said, I ain't seen nothing yet. On the countryside it's even more beautiful. Unfornately, we couldn't go for long drives because we had the baby with us. Maybe it was a good thing because if we went to the countryside my heart will probably stop beating!

We went to the souq and I really enjoyed it. It's like going in to Alladin's cave. Lots of things to see and very colourful.

Another place we saw was the Grand Mosque. Boy it was grand! My jaw dropped as soon as we got inside. The place is massive and the architectural designs are so intricate. If I have one word to describe it, it would be - stunning!

And lastly, the Omanis are extraordianrily hospitable and genuinely friendly people. They're very down-to-earth and you can see it from the way dress and the way they talk. They're so laid back.

I took lots of photos and uploaded them on Flickr. I am not very good with words so I hope my photos will tell more about how beautiful Oman is.
