      Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait

Ricardo M. Endaya

Ambassador Ricardo Endaya began his career in the Philippine Foreign Service in 1981. He was posted to Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq war. His next appointment was in Belgium for a further three years, then on to Tripoli  Libya for a further seven years.

Before entering the Foreign Service, Ambassador Endaya received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Sto Tomas. He's the youngest Ambassador and academically the most highly qualified diplomat in the Philippine Foreign Service. He went to the Harvard School of Diplomacy in the United States and then went on to the University of Brussels for his Masters in Law. During his career he received three presidential awards from  President Corazon Aquino, Fidel Ramos and the current President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

He was a part of the negotiating team that secured the release of the two Filipino truck drivers Angelo de la Cruz and Robert Tarongoy who were abducted in Iraq. And also helped secure the release of the Filipino nurses who were held in Tripoli a few years ago because of the HIV scandal that is still on-going.

Ambassador Endaya enjoys reading memoirs of political leaders, visiting historical places,  listening to music and watching movies. He speaks Arabic and some French. He has two adult children.
